Before you start, ensure you have clean hands and a spotless face. Apply some thin face serum, face oil, or moisturiser.

We are going to start the exercises with a short breathwork.

1. Relaxing Breathwork

Breathwork helps in relaxing your heart rate. When your heart rate is relaxed, there is regulated blood pumping to different body parts, including the face, where you need it to heal your acne. 

How to Do Breathwork?

  • Close your eyes.
     
  • Concentrate on your breathing.
     
  • Feel all your body parts calm down and relax.
     
  • Inhale to a count of four and pause for two counts at the top of your inhalation.
     
  • Then, exhale slowly for six counts. 
     
  • Repeat the slow breathing five times.

You can always practise this breathwork at any time of the day, whenever possible. It helps control your stress levels. It works well in controlling your acne. As you already know, it worsens with more stress.

2. Acupressure Technique 

Applying gentle pressure on some points on your face helps improve the healing activity of your skin. Here, we will show you how to apply pressure on two points that enhance face yoga results for acne and blemishes.

The Step-by-Step Process to Performing Acupressure

  • Keep both hands' index or ring fingers on either side of your nostrils.
     
  • Start massaging this point in circular motions, in a clockwise direction, as you continue breathing slowly.
     
  • After about ten breaths, start massaging in an anticlockwise direction for another ten breaths.
     
  • Finish this acupressure massage with relaxing breathworks.  

The particular point at the nostril we refer to has energy flow related to facial skin health. Applying pressure on this point helps reduce the acne by improving blood circulation. It is super calming as well. 

Now, let's continue to the second pressure point, the temples.

  • Concentrate on your breaths as you gently put your index fingers on both temples.
     
  • Start massaging the temples in gentle circular movements in a clockwise direction for ten counts.
     
  • After this, continue the circular movements in an anticlockwise direction for ten counts.

Pressure on this point mainly helps reduce the acne around the forehead and temple area. It is also a go-to pressure point when your stress levels are rising.

3. Tongue Out Technique

The exercise will help you tone your facial muscles, fasten cell regeneration and remove the stagnation or blockage of energy in the lower half of your face. In addition, this technique gives you a well-defined jawline.

How to Perform Tongue Out Technique?

  • Relax your shoulders down.
     
  • Turn your head to one side.
     
  • Stick your tongue out, trying to touch the tip of your nose with your tongue.
     
  • Hold in that position for a count of ten.
     
  • After that, turn your head to the opposite side and repeat the same steps.
     
  • Do the same to and fro on each side five times in total.

The tongue-out technique stretches your jaw, neck and chin muscles, thus improving the circulation around the lower side of your face.

4. Eye Flutter with an ‘O’

Eye flutter exercise relieves tension around eyelids and cheeks, promoting tissue regeneration.

How Can You Perform the Technique?

  • Place both index fingertips on the sides of your nose at mid-length and keep them horizontally flat across your cheeks.
     
  • Next, form an 'O' shape with your mouth. 
     
  • Now, continuously flutter your eyelids for a count of 10 while keeping your forehead super still. 
     
  • After completing the count, slowly release back down.

This technique works well for acne on your cheeks and forehead area.

5. Puff-the-Cheeks Technique

This facial exercise works on a lot of muscles around your cheeks.

How to Perform the Technique?

  • Puff your cheeks out with air.
     
  • Now, press gently on your closed lips with four fingers of one hand while continuing to puff out your cheeks.
     
  • Focus on your breathing, slowly inhaling and exhaling for a count of 10.
     
  • When you finish, gently release your breath and lower your cheeks.

When you finish, continue shallow breathing for another 5-10 seconds.

Although, you can practise these techniques at least three times a day for the best results.
